A representative AUV fin assembly, presented as an operator work instruction. Follow installation, mechanical zero-setting and repeatability checks.

01 / operator work instruction

The job, the sequence
and the check.

Follow six operations from station identification to fin installation, mechanical zero-setting and recorded verification. The example shows how a physical reference becomes a traceable assembly check.

This original template shows how a defined process can become a usable operator reference. A customer deliverable replaces the demo content with approved source documents, applicable photographs, technical requirements and a review record. Format can be tailored to the customer’s existing tools.

02 / build handoff

Keep the next build
from starting over.

BUILD HANDOFF RECORDTemplate / example
  1. Build identifier and document revision
  2. Component and drawing references
  3. Assembly sequence and required tooling
  4. Open issues, owner and agreed next step
  5. Review and release record

A handoff should make it easy to see what was built, which information applies and what still needs a decision.

The format is tailored to your workflow and the people who need to use it.

03 / installation + alignment

Fit the hardware.
Prove the reference.

What does zeroing mean?

Mechanical zero aligns the fin’s physical reference to the drawing-defined neutral position. A fixture and measurement establish that alignment; moving away and returning checks whether it repeats.

Encoder or controller zero is a separate setting. A complete job ties both references together under the customer’s approved procedure and records the measured result.

Inspired by the general form of large inspection AUVs such as DIVE-LD. This is a representative demonstration, not client work or an Anduril assembly procedure.

what’s slowing the build.
